Kamadhoo Island

Kamadhoo is a welcoming and peaceful island located in Baa Atoll. A special place rich in traditions and blessed by natural beauty.

Baa Atoll

Baa Atoll consists of 75 islands. From these islands only 13 are inhabited islands and 10 are resorts. The remaining ones are uninhabited islands. Baa Atoll is a very unique atoll in the world and is well-known for its UNESCO biosphere reserve, Hanifaru Bay, a protected marine area where you can spot whale sharks and manta rays in large number of groups during the season.

Great diving spots, an exceptional underwater biodiversity, breath-taking uninhabited islands and sandbanks contribute in making the Baa Atoll one of the greatest atolls of the Maldives and the world.

Among this unique paradise is located the beautiful island of Kamadhoo.

The natural beauty of this island is one of a kind. Its white sandy beaches, the turquoise waters and its rich vegetation are breathtaking. Palm trees bearing fresh and healthy coconuts, banana trees and a great variety of tropical flowers are in every corner of the island.

Kamadhoo is an island rich of culture and typical Maldivian traditions. Discover them while strolling around the colourful island roads and get to know more about the locals and their ancient traditions during your time in Kamadhoo.

Take the opportunity to also check out the small cafés and restaurants of the island where you can enjoy amazing local food and “Hedhikaa”, typical short eats served at the afternoon tea. That is the best time to mingle with the locals and to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Kamadhoo, like all local islands, has its own kindergarten and school, a mosque, a health center and a few local corner shops. The island is also very dedicated to improve its own waste management system and become more sustainable. Soneva Namoona, a local organization in the Baa Atoll, is doing a wonderful job educating the island people about recycling, reusing and reducing.  It is a great project we are thrilled to support whenever and however we can.

Kamadhoo’s natural beauty and the friendliness and generosity of its people will live in your heart forever and your journey here will be undoubtedly unforgettable.
